Superintendent's Message
On behalf of the Lordstown Board of Education and the Lordstown Local School District staff, I would like to welcome you back for the 2025-2026 school year. We look forward to the challenges of the new school year at Lordstown Local Schools, where, together with our students, we will strive to make a difference in their lives by creating a rich and stimulating environment.
At Lordstown Local Schools, our culture is deeply rooted in three core values: "Respect," "Responsibility," and "Pride." These values, when embraced by all, set high standards in the classroom and community, shape our daily interactions and experiences, and inspire us to be the best versions of ourselves.
This school year, Lordstown Local Schools will continue to prioritize the well-being of our students by offering them complimentary breakfast and lunch, which the school will fully cover. This initiative ensures that our students are well-nourished, enabling them to focus more effectively on their studies. Our Elementary School will continue to implement the science of reading curriculum. Additionally, we are converting the space where the old lockers were located into a new sensory integration and developmental skills area. Both buildings will continue to develop the STEM programs offered in the district. At the High School, we have converted one of our computer rooms into a DISCOVERY Room for STEM Classes. The following new STEM programs are being introduced: Carpentry (11th Grade),
Carpentry/Logistics/Manufacturing (8th Grade), and College and Career Readiness (11 th Grade). These new programs are designed to prepare our students for the future, and we are excited about the opportunities they will bring. To highlight a few. Additionally, at the High School, we have replaced our old Lockers, which are now larger to accommodate our students' coats and belongings.
We will also continue to develop and grow our Fine Arts programs (music and art) at both the Elementary and High School levels. Last year, we witnessed a full-scale drama production at the High School, as well as the development of two Art Clubs at both the High School and the
Elementary School. Last but not least, starting next school year, Lordstown Schools will use FinalForms exclusively as the district's official forms. Paper forms will no longer be sent home (e.g., Medical, Transportation, Contact Information, Technology Forms, etc.).
Our unwavering commitment to excellence and meeting the needs of every child every day is a cornerstone of our school. We ensure that our educational programs meet high standards and that our students receive the best care. Your child's well-being is our top priority, and we want to reassure you of this.
As your Superintendent, I value the opportunity to work with our excellent staff, students, and families. I eagerly look forward to meeting and working with each of you as we help our students grow and develop into lifelong learners. If you have any concerns, questions, or comments, please don't hesitate to contact me. We believe that open communication is not just important, but essential to the success of our students. We are here to listen and work together with you, ensuring that you are always informed and involved in your child's education.
Sincerely,
Gregory T. Bonamase
Superintendent
